Start your day with a bowl of nutty chia overnight oats! Wonderfully rich and smooth from the blended nuts, with a delicate balance of thick, creaminess from the chia seeds and oats, this breakfast idea is healthy and tastes great. Simply make the day before and leave time to do all the work for you.
THE BENEFITS OF NUTTY CHIA OVERNIGHT OATS
Rather than using nuts to create a crunchy texture, here I’m using them for their creaminess. Peanut butter is included for a hint of indulgence that takes what could be a ‘standard’ breakfast to something super delicious.
The almonds help to thicken it a little and create more flavour. This helps give the oats a much less stodgy texture without being too runny. Including healthy fats in a breakfast will keep you feeling fuller for longer too!
Oats speak for themselves when it comes to health benefits. Packed with fibre to keep you full throughout the day, they are rich in antioxidants which can help protect your body. They have also lost that typical, boring breakfast status, as you can enjoy oats with many different types of flavours and toppers.
We topped ours with some banana and more ground almonds and raisins. For another idea for overnight oats, why not try our banoffee over night oats.
Chia seeds are another hero when it comes to a good, healthy breakfast. Packed with omega 3 fatty acids as well as more fiber, iron and calcium. They also help bind the oats together without leaving it too stodgy. Perfect for an all round creamier breakfast without any nasty additives.
Enjoy this breakfast any day of the week, and customise however you want with whatever suitable ingredients you have.
